Commercial M14/M1A receivers arent dimensionally uniform like a USGI receiver, therefore some parts require hand fitting, and some receivers wont accept certain USGI parts. While I dont own an M14/M1A, I have read a lot about them. The front lug was made by a M14 forum member in Washington. Building an M14/M1A is a job for a competent gun smith. He chose a heavy profile Lothar-Walther barrel. What does a new Springfield Armory gun go for or a Bula go for New or used avarage? I have never really looked in to the Com ercial guns as I always thought the military built gun s resale value would be more in the long run as there are fewer of them and I think theres more demand for a military built gun.ДЄnd if you needed to sell your gun,there is thousands of SWA and Bula Guns already for sale all over but not so many USGI Guns floating around for sale as people hold on to them more,I think they will sell for higher prices and sell faster than the SA and Bula guns that are all over the place is why I buy the kits and build the USGI Guns. My good friend challenged me to build a double-lugged M14 on a LRB M25 receiver with a McMillan M3A woodland camo stock. Its not as bad of a money pit as you all are making it out to be,I just bought the parts for mine. I want to replace the receiver and I have heard good things about the LRB receiver. The receiver is the only Norinco part left. If you Do not just buy everything at LRB you can come in at around $1,400 to $1500.00 building a GI Gun $375.00 for the kit,$169.00 or less on a GI refurbished bolt,NEW Criterion SAK copy NM Barrel or a H&R original GI Barrel $249.00,Fulton reciever $624.95,Gas cylinder $50.00 on GBand a couple small parts and your good to go ALL GI or one with a NM Criterion barrel if you know where to get the parts.
